Jennifer was born in California and grew up in Sacramento and San Francisco. She has cultivated her love of fashion and design over the past 18 years, during which time she's lived in New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and San Francisco,
Jennifer graduated from Princeton University in 1992, and went on to work as a graphic designer and art director for companies such as Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, KLM Airlines, Giro Sport Design, Adidas, and Electronic Arts. She also studied product design at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, and filmmaking and film design at the American Film Institute Conservatory.
Jennifer has worked as a florist, writer, graphic designer, art director, film producer, event organizer, product designer, and set decorator. She is also a former Director of Design for Williams-Sonoma Inc’s Pottery Barn brands.
Jennifer opened her Mission pop-up store, HOT! in November 2004 on Valencia and 17th as a side project. After one whirlwind month, she decided to make the project permanent. HOT! was renamed Candystore Collective and found a home in June of 2005 on 16th Street and Valencia in the Mission.
In April 2010, Jennifer opened another version of Candystore Collective called HELLO on Bush Street and Fillmore, in Lower Pac Heights.
