Historic preservation? I snapped the above photo on a visit to our nation’s capitol, where height limits for building codes seem to be trending upward.
When I Instragrammed it as a bad architectural idea, it immediately drew responses from hometown San Francisco friends — “Maybe this is our solution!” — who are struggling (along with this writer) with questions of how to preserve & protect some of our beautiful SF buildings in need of VERY expensive restoration. Hopefully, San Francisco ingenuity will come up with a better idea.
