It’s giant, cheap book sale time again! The San Francisco Public Library’s Big Book Sale at Fort Mason started yesterday and runs through Sunday. The free event will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day, and all the books and other media like DVDs and CDs are $1–3. All of them! On Sunday, the price of hardback and soft cover books goes down to $1. There is always an incredible selection to choose from (more than 250,000 books and other media), but keep in mind that the longer you wait to go, the more picked-over the bounty will be.

Friends of the San Francisco Library hosts this event yearly to raise money to support SF’s public libraries. It is pretty incredible to see so many books fill up Fort Mason center and the smell is just terrific. I’d suggest making a strategy for carting all your literary loot home with you, because when books are this affordable, you won’t want to hold back.
