What are you doing this lovely Christmas Eve Eve? At home alone, abandoned by your roommates? Are you stuck in a ghost town of an office? Do you want a cookie?

Of course you do!

In San Francisco you can get basically anything delivered: booze, groceries, hot Russian babes (if the ads in back of SF Weekly are to be believed) and now you can get cookies delivered thanks to a new start up called Doughbies.

Doughbies promises to deliver batches of freshly baked cookies to your door within 20 minutes of order. “It’s like PostMates but like, just for cookies,” I can almost hear one of the founders saying to his Tinder date. Doughbies was originally conceived as a way to deliver cookies from Etsy stores to people but has since focused on a more refined model that provides cookies from local bakeries. Their website calls the service “The World’s Largest Local Bakery.”

There are some flaws in this seemingly Keebler-tastic service. For one, it only delivers to people who live in SoMa or The Mission. Tech Crunch reported that the founders, Daniel Conway and Mariam Khan, say they do have plans to expand the business in the new year. Tech Crunch also reported that the cookies took 35 minutes to be delivered rather than the promised 20, but the reporter follows up by saying that the delivery person added an extra batch to her order to compensate.

At this rate, 2015 may be the year of the delivery service. Hopefully this time next year I will be sitting at home eating freshly delivered cookies, sipping freshly delivered milk and writing about freshly delivered ideas brought to me via bicycle by some dude with a mustache.
