Kidding! It’s just a time-lapse. (But you clicked anyway, you gaseous water pervs!) Still, this is some seriously hot fog-on-city action, and similar to a sex tape in that it’s dark, hard to see everything, very shareable, and you want to watch it over and over again.
Adrift is the newest video by artist, Simon Christen. If this video look a little familiar, you may remember last year I did a little Q&A with him about his other fog time-lapse, The Unseen Sea. (In hindsight, asking if he got the “stationary” shots from high altitudes via plane was kind of dumb, but the rest of the questions were very good.)
Yesterday, Simon emailed me about Adrift, which is an even longer, more stunning look at the Bay’s fog, sped up to a pace where it starts to resemble the most delicate sky-waterfall.
He explains, “Adrift is a love letter to the fog of the San Francisco Bay Area. I chased it for over two years to capture the magical interaction between the soft mist, the ridges of the California coast and the iconic Golden Gate Bridge. I hope you like it.”
I do like it. I can’t imagine who wouldn’t. Perhaps people who always choose aisle seats on planes?
(Just kidding, aisle people.)
