During my time at The Bold Italic I’ve launched quite a few contests with some pretty great prizes on the line, but never have I seen anything so fiercely competitive as the battle for a Valentine’s Day Dinner at State Bird Provisions- and I should mention that we once gave away a trip to New Zealand.
Last week we announced that we would be giving away a 7:30 p.m. reservation on Valentine’s Day at the James Beard award winning restaurant plus $200 for dinner. To enter, you had to Instagram a picture of who you would take if you won and follow a couple other simple rules. We received over 600 entries and holy crap did people pull out all the stops.
For this contest we chose our top 20 staff favorites and then selected the winner randomly out of a hat (ok, maybe it was a salsa bowl). Since announcing the winner, we’ve received an overwhelming amount of requests to release the top 20 favorites. So we’re gonna, because there were just too many great ones not to!
Maybe love is the realization that the small moments in life hold some significance because you’ve found someone to share those moments with. #iwantstatebird @thebolditalic
