LA artist Liza Nelson declares emoji both “really stupid” and “the best thing that ever happened to our generation,” believing that they deserve to be observed and worshipped individually, and so she began creating a collection of images that capture uncanny IRL versions of the most notable characters.
By sculpting, posing, and photoshopping real-life versions of emoji, Nelson creates scenes that make you feel like you’ve walked right into your iPhone. The recreations are incredible — all our favorites come to life, including eggplant (aka the go-to stand in for penis), poop with eyes, girl holding invisible tray, sexy red-dress solo dancer, and many more!
