San Francisco is uniquely gorgeous — it’s a grid of compact design, bursting with buildings conceived in various centuries. It’s also one of the few major US cities with a Mediterranean climate. Despite this, locals and travelers alike find reason to hate on some of San Francisco’s most storied destinations. I’ve experienced severe tourist fatigue, but that doesn’t diminish my enjoyment of San Francisco’s genuinely beautiful landmarks and architectural feats. The writers of these reviews, however, weren’t so easily placated.
The Golden Gate Bridge

I hope this reviewer doesn’t find the bridge’s intended purpose — namely, connecting San Francisco to Sausalito — to also be overrated.
Alcatraz

This looks conspicuously like a series of tweets from Mr. President.
Lands End

CAREFUL, kids, you might DIE out there.
Lombard Street

I don’t think this person understands the point of Lombard Street.
Golden Gate Park

Given San Francisco’s preference for dogs over children, I doubt this.
Coit Tower

Twin Peaks

And Sutro Tower

Palace of Fine Arts

Ugh!!!!!!!! How dare they??????!!!!?!?!?!!!!!????
Painted Ladies

What are they looking at? Hint: the houses.
Bay Bridge

Though I personally find the Bay Bridge to be stunning, I can’t really argue with this one.
