It’s remarkable that many of us continue to use Yelp, since it feels like like most of the reviews come from people who want to bitch about rude waitstaff and subpar eats. Now, there’s a video of regular people reading Yelp reviews about themselves.
Modeled after Jimmy Kimmel’s “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets” videos, this one features 15 different servers, bartenders, kitchen managers, and cooks reading scathing Yelp reviews about themselves or the restaurant they manage.
Most of the reviews are downright heinous, which may be why crowdsourced review sites are always so unreliable. When a reviewer critiques female servers by saying, “You are not like the smoking hot girls I see at Friday’s” it makes you wonder who these assholes are, and how much spit they’ve eaten on their burgers over the years.
