If you thought you were going to get a lot of work done today, think again. Your favorite childhood games like “Oregon Trail,” “Donkey Kong,” and “King’s Quest” are now available to play online.

The Software Library of the Internet Archive, a non-profit library, listed 2,400 MS-DOS games yesterday on its website. All games are free to play, but only work with the most updated version of Firefox and Chrome (though they can also be played on Internet Explorer and Safari). And if you really enjoy playing, some of the games can also be downloaded to your personal computer.

While this endeavor might seem a little ridiculous to those who left their “Deluxe Ski Jump” days behind them, the curator of the release, Jason Scott believes otherwise. “Software, unlike many other media, has a massive barrier to using it,” says Scott in a blog post. “This project is an attempt to lower that barrier, ideally to nothing.”

What are you waiting for? Get over to the Software Library and decide if you should ford the river to get to Oregon or succumb to dysentery. Or take your chances and get lost in playing “Sim City.”
