San Francisco teenagers are wylin’ ’cause they’re young. The above video footage, shot on Sunday, was posted on Reddit by Scott Brio and makes me feel a confusing mix of pride and worry. On the one hand, I appreciate the unbridled lust for life that this group clearly has, but on the other hand, I want to call all their parents and make them write essays on the importance of wearing helmets and staying off freeways.
Brio recorded the video at around 3:45 p.m. March 22 and estimates there were about 40 kids cruising around on their bikes on a stretch of freeway that looks like it’s the 101 south. In the video, it appears that the youths stuck mainly to the far right lane, but according to the commenters and Brio, traffic was significantly slowed when these bikers and YOLO advocates spread out into several lanes. If anyone knows more about whether this stunt was for any specific purpose or if these kids were just flexing, please share your insight in the comments.
