There is an ironically large subset of people who are obsessed with tiny things. And what’s not to love! It’s like a regular thing, except so much smaller. (Those tiny Japanese cooking videos that have been going around recently are straight-up hypnotic.) Local tiny-things-lover Sean Hewens and New York’s Mimi O Chun collaborated on an extremely cute project that shrinks down classic mid-century furniture and involves a little peanut wearing a hat.

Pete Peanut and the Trouble with Birthdays is a story by Hewens about a peanut who has to attend way too many birthdays (been there.) O Chun illustrates the story with a collection of scenes featuring miniatures of iconic mid-century furniture and artwork. The resulting images are adorable.

Mimi and Sean started a Kickstarter to help cover the cost of finishing the book. (The video for the Kickstarter is Wes Anderson-y and features a bunch of additional scenes not shown in these photos). Rewards include the actual scenes/furniture featured in the photos, which I’m sure would look amazing on your mantle. Or, you can preorder the book itself.
