“What kind of crazy shit are you willing to endure to get good food?”
Once again, local blogger and celebrated everyman Broke-Ass Stuart is asking the tough questions.
Last week he unveiled this video where he interviews people waiting in line outside of Mama’s Cafe in North Beach at the debut of his new live variety show, The Kinda Late Show with Broke-Ass Stuart. In this clip, he meets all kinds of line standers, from newlyweds to Oaklanders; there’s even a Task Rabbit paid to save someone’s spot. He also starts his own line to wait for the city’s most coveted bench. One man (decked out in not at all douchey aviator shades) sums up the issue succinctly: “We’re willing [to wait] and we have money and we like good things.”
Check out the next installment of The Kinda Late Show next month. Last month’s show included a cabaret band, a sex writer, comedians, and a woman who could shoot arrows with her feet. I for one, can’t wait to see what comes next.
