Act One: Drinking in Public
“Like most urbanites preparing for a night of drinking, my roommate and I have a routine: we pregame and then pour the leftover wine from our (second) bottle into a purple-and-pink paisley reusable plastic cup. We call this a ‘roadie’ — a drink for the Muni. Our routine isn’t legal, per se. But the good news is you’ve probably been drinking in spots approved by the city without knowing it. “Your first meeting is with a partner at a ‘tier one’ firm. You walk into the building lobby and introduce yourself. The receptionist offers you choices of water. You take Hint Fizz — pomegranate flavored. You immediately regret it.
