Three days ago, some enterprising sleuth reported on 4chan’s “politically incorrect” board that they’d found Jared Kushner’s profile on Last.fm, a site that lets users publicly log the music they listen to.

The Internet was delighted by all the ironies inherent in Trump’s son-in-law’s taste. That saccharine pop band Fun? The Sound of Music? Fucking Enya? No wonder Bannon clashes with this chud.
The rumor that this was Kushner’s last.fm profile spread, and spread, and spread — to Reddit, and across Twitter. Yet no news outlets, mainstream or otherwise, have reported on it yet. [4/13 update: Gizmodo and Consequence of Sound are now reporting on it as well.]
I wanted to be the first, but first I had to confirm that it was true. Yet how to verify a rumor like this? I tweeted at Jared Kushner, though it seems phenomenally unlikely he’ll tweet back (he has a verified account but no tweets).
The original poster provided no evidence that this is actually Kushner’s account. The only clue that this might belong to Jared Kushner is the username — “JKushner.” Well that, and circumstantial evidence: he has three kids, and there is some children’s music on there.
The prospect was tantalizing. But here’s the thing, folks: when you Google “JKushner,” there are a lot of people out there using this username who definitely aren’t Jared Kushner. There’s a Jennifer Kushner who uses the “JKushner” alias on a few sites. There’s a Jacqueline Kushner who uses it too. Jared’s brother, Joshua, is a bit more of a techie and could just as easily be JKushner. And San Franciscan Jake Kushner, a product designer, also has a GitHub alias of “JKushner” and said he loves Zero 7 — and the last.fm “JKushner” includes some scrobbles from Zero 7.
All I’m saying is that while Jared Kushner could own this last.fm profile, it’s probably not him. The probability is just pretty low.
