We are a burrito-obsessed city. I mean, here at The Bold Italic alone, we’ve mapped the best ones by neighborhood, thoroughly analyzed the breakfast varieties, and profiled the local champ who ate her way through 100 burritos in 100 days.
And as a burrito and design-obsessed site, we very much appreciate local designer Oscar Nilsson’s burrito challenge map of the Mission. The clever little piece of eye candy, which maps out the various regions within the ‘hood in shades of beans, meat, lettuce, rice, guac, and cheese, offers a challenge to San Franciscans to eat their way across 47 different taquerias on their way to intimately understanding San Francisco’s official mouth mascot. (Note: Oscar has updated the map, the new version is below. You can download a copy here).
