
Caught Shade-Handed?
In case you were not aware, there has been a serial sunglasses thief on the loose in California. You probably did not know that unless you work at a store that sells sunglasses. Well, apparently, the mystery man stole thousands of dollars’ worth of luxury sunglasses on Union Street (in the Marina), according to ABC 7 News. Perhaps he needed rent money? The motive is unclear, but similar events have reportedly happened in January and December.
US Government Didn’t Believe a 111-Year-Old SF Woman Is Still Alive
Lucy Mirigian, a vivacious 111-year-old San Francisco woman, has a message for the government: yes, I’m still alive. According to the San Francisco Chronicle, the centenarian explained that the agency that issues her federal pension decided that Mirigian was dead because she had not returned a letter stating she wasn’t; she said she never received the letter. As a result, her monthly pension stopped, and she almost lost her health insurance. Apparently, it took a rigorous effort to convince the government that she was, indeed, still alive.
Airplane Clipped Terminal at SFO
An Aer Lingus Airbus A330 had a bad day when it arrived at SFO from Dublin, Ireland. According to CBS, the jet “was being taxied in by a tractor into the terminal when the tractor crew misjudged the turn and the wing clipped a concrete pillar.” Fortunately, nobody was injured, and passengers were able to de-board an hour after the incident.
