EVENT DESCRIPTION

Before immersive tech took over, there was Anthony McCall: in 1973, he invented 'solid light' installations—projecting light through haze to create 3D sculptures you can walk through and touch. The Fort Mason premiere runs through March 8 with three seminal pieces (Line Describing a Cone, Conical Solid, Cone of Variable Volume) that still feel revolutionary 50+ years later. Free with RSVP, limited spots; special musical performance and curator talk on Saturday, March 7.
