EVENT DESCRIPTION
Artist Christine Wong Yap's trilingual art project features 15 hand-cut paper lanterns created by multigenerational Chinese and Latinx immigrant women, now displayed across Chinatown and the Mission through March. The lanterns visualize stories at the intersection of lived experience and urgent issues—immigrant rights, worker protections, housing, safety, mental health—showcasing what these women have done or envision doing to create change. On Saturday, January 24, join a free scavenger hunt (11am-2pm) at partner sites including the Chinese Culture Center, Galería de la Raza, and Brava! for Women in the Arts.
