Normal, Adult Reactions to Zayn Quitting One Direction — The Bold Italic — San Francisco

As your teenage niece probably told you, the band One Direction lost one of its members yesterday. Zayn Malik (easily the cutest band member if you’re into that kind of thing) announced yesterday that he’s quitting the famous boy band for good. That leaves only Taylor Swift’s ex boyfriend, the dude with the Justin Bieber hair, that super pale guy, and that other token brunette to sing about how girls not knowing that they’re beautiful makes them that much more bang-able.

Some people’s reactions to this news have been Beatlemania level crazy with girls crying all over Twitter. We decided to reach out to the members of our staff to see how they’re coping.

Taylor Reid: Office Manager

“What’s a Zayn?”

Will Floyd: Web Developer

“Did Paul McCartney die?””No.””Ok, don’t bother me until that happens.”

Anne Marie Alcantara: Intern

“One Direction is still a thing?”

Stephanie Marden: Events Manager

“Pssh I was alive when Ginger left The Spice Girls, kids today don’t know shit about grief!”

Jeremy Lybarger: Editor

“So?”

Kyle Hughes: Sales Manager

“How many directions are there now?”

Molly Sanchez: Very Attractive Intern

“Oh my god NO! NO! NOOOOOOOOOO!”

( We actually didn’t tell her anything about Zayn, we told her there was no more pizza in the office fridge.)

(Later we told her we were just kidding, there was still pizza)
