You’ll never find a shortage of culture in the Bay Area — San Francisco alone is home to over 50 museums, many of them generally regarded as some of the best in the world.

Or…not, according to a special group of elite art connoisseurs who’ve taken to Yelp to let us know that they, themselves, could create better masterpieces than those found in SF’s horrible so-called museums.

So let’s dive in to the very best one-star reviews of these cultural treasures—or shit holes, shall we say? (And don’t forget to check out other gems in this series, including one-star Yelp reviews of SF’s five-star restaurants and most famous attractions, as well as California’s most-beloved state parks.)

Review of the de Young

Is it the art that pissed off Serena, or was it Nancy Pelosi? Hard to say. But at least we now know that not a single piece of artwork in SF’s iconic art museum—thousands of works from 17th- to 20th-century America and around the world, from Africa to the Pacific—is worth seeing. All worthless.

SFMOMA: five floors of art painted by toddlers. Seems reasonable.

Review of the SFMOMA

“Very disorganized…scatter…too stimulating for the eyes.” This reviewer just described her own Yelp review. Not sure whether to be more upset about the elevators or people staring at his girlfriend’s ass.

Review of the Walt Disney Family Museum

Thank God this person has warned us Disney fans that this museum is only about Walt Disney the person and not a screening of The Jungle Book. Pass.

California Academy of Sciences

Next time you think about going to the California Academy of Sciences, just go to Petco. At least they dust.

Could this review be anymore San Francisco?
