If there’s anything to be grateful for this holiday, it’s baby animals. For the 33rd year in a row, Macy’s and the SF SPCA have teamed up to bring us their holiday windows featuring adoptable pets frolicking in faux snow and mistletoe. In addition to puppies and kittens, this year SF Animal Care & Control added rabbits, chinchillas, and guinea pigs to the delightful mix.
In case you can’t make it to Macy’s at the corner of Stockton and O’Farrell Streets, here are some behind-the-scenes photos of Acorn the puppy, Sew-ee the six-month-old lop bunny, and frisky kittens aplenty. If you can make the time, there’s also a cuddle experience on December 5, which allows for 10 minutes of cuddling with the animals for $10, and Santa Paws, where you and your dog can get photos with Santa. You can also volunteer as a greeter; last year, more than 100 people did just that.
The windows will remain open through January 1.
