San Francisco makes it easy to pretend you’re in a movie, but usually it’s a sweet movie, set to a toy piano or a sickeningly twee ukulele. But this timelapse by Toby Harriman makes SF feel like a hugely budgeted film, catching the rhythm of the traffic and the cranes, the fog and multiple moon-risings; if the word “epic” hadn’t nearly completely lost its meaning thanks to Upworthy headlines, I’d use it here.

Harriman started the project in 2012, merging his loves of black and white photography and timelapse into his largest personal project. I usually watch timelapse videos on mute because Creative Commons music choices are awful, but I highly recommend blasting the volume on this one. Harriman spent months searching for the perfect soundtrack, and ended up having a 14-year-old from the UK, James Everingham, compose an original, custom score. It’s perfect.

Check it out below: the quick cuts at 1:14 might actually make you well up, and the fireworks at 2:55 are magical.
