For those of you who have “eat less meat” on your 2014 resolutions list, or if you’re already veg and new-ish to the city, this map of vegan spots by neighborhood could be a handy little guide for you. Along with the graphic, One Medical Group’s blog also suggests 100 vegan dishes to try at these spots.
You don’t have to be vegan or vegetarian to appreciate this list. Many of these spots are tried and true SF favorites, like the tea leaf salad at Burma Superstar or the fake meat sandwiches at Love ’n’ Haight deli. I was surprised to see a number of lesser-known dishes, though, like the deep fried taro root fish at Lucky Creation and the veggie crab cakes at Thai Idea in the TL (btw, the staff at Thai Idea are probably the nicest people ever).
Good stuff, and hopefully One Medical will make an East Bay vegan map next.
