SantaCon is the best of times and the worst of times. At first blush, San Francisco turns into a virtual sea of red, jolly Kris Kringles of all sizes — fat, skinny, sexy and curious. Everyone seems to be having a belly-grabbing, good ol’ time. But as day turns into night and then the wee hours of the morning, SantaCon gets downright melancholic, with inebriated Santas passed out or desperately trying to get home. Dreaded by many, the day has become a stark contrast to the childhood memory of Santa spending a quiet evening at home with Mrs. Claus at the North Pole.
