It’s the highlight of the winter season, and adorable dogs, cats, puppies and kittens are gracing the festively decorated main-level window at Macy’s. While it may appear to be just a cute display, all the animals are in need of forever homes. Not in the position to adopt but want to help? The SPCA is always in need of window greeters to talk with perspective pet parents, accept donations and answer questions.
SF-Marin Food Bank
While volunteer slots do fill up quickly during the holiday season, the SF-Marin Food Bank often finds that they need help in the new year. Consider giving back in a number of ways, whether it’s a donation or sorting products at one of their two warehouses.
One Warm Coat
While this isn’t technically a volunteer opportunity, it’s a wonderful way to make sure someone can stay warm during the chilliest time of the year. You can donate gently worn coats to a plethora of different locations across the bay. Clear out some of your closet space for 2018, and donate to a great cause in the process.
