Spotted in Hayes Valley: a new, giant interactive mural asking you to help “stamp out” corruption. The billboard, which is street-facing and outside the restaurant and exhibition space Proxy SF, asks the community to buy official U.S. Postal Service stamps and place them on the mural to help support and raise money for the USPS, sending a crucial message ahead of the election.

The mural — and overall campaign — is the brainchild of Bay Area creative team John McNeil Studio.

Due to Covid-19, there will be no official event for the campaign. Instead, community members are welcome to add their stamps over the course of the month, respecting others doing the same while following social distancing guidelines.

The John McNeil Studio team has also placed signs throughout San Francisco along the same lines.

Bay Area residents are also encouraged to visit the Stamp Out website to download posters and display them in the windows of their homes and places of business.

“Unfortunately, at a time when an unprecedented number of Americans will be relying on the US mail to vote, the USPS is being undermined and politicized by the current administration,” said McNeil, the studio’s CEO and founder. “Stamp Out is a means of both protest and proactive support. By purchasing stamps we help ensure the viability of the USPS and by putting those stamps on the Stamp Out wall, we send a collective message.”

We love the creativity behind this project that supports USPS, which is working tirelessly through the election, and embraces art and community activism. You love to see it.
