Finding love is a complicated thing these days. First dates over FaceTime, smizing behind a mask, and anxiety-ridden decisions on whether to welcome someone into your bubble. And for those already in relationships, it’s no easier — quarantining, working from home, and ever-mounting anxiety around a global pandemic has put us all to the test.
The thing about love in 2020 is that, despite how it’s challenged, it’s gone on. People have found their match. They’ve broken up. Gotten engaged. Eloped. In some ways, today’s panorama of political stress and pandemic woes has made it easier for us to realize what’s important and cut to the chase. Because let’s be honest: Not a single one of us has time for bullshit these days.
We at The Bold Italic are interested in hearing and telling these stories of love, dating, sex, and relationships during Covid-19 as part of a new series, the Pandemic Dating Diaries.
